Families are invited to join us on Saturday, October 12, to make some block printing magic with printmaker and illustrator Chloe Alexander! Together, we’ll explore our personal values and examine how we can use our voices to ignite change. While reflecting on the written and vocal work of Nikki Giovani and Fannie Lou Hamer, we will examine personal values that are important to us and bring those to life on paper for the world to experience.
Families are invited to join us on Saturday, October 19, for curtain up with theater artist Nora Frankovich! We'll use the power of the written word while looking at examples from the work of James Baldwin and Maya Angelou to explore the social shifts that sparked new ideas, discussions, and creativity.
Families are invited to join us on Saturday, November 2, to explore the future of our city. With sustainable and visual artist Alli Eberhardt, we'll celebrate what makes our lived experiences in Atlanta unique while brainstorming ways to make it even better and more welcoming to all who live here. Inspired by the many ways Representative John Lewis uplifted our state, let's create, play, and plan our way to a better world!
These workshops connect to the themes and topics in MODA’s fall exhibit CHARACTERS: Type in Action, illustrating the impact of typography on social justice, its history, and its role in today’s movements.
